ASSIGNMENTS: Film analysis (25 points), annotated bibliography (25 points), midterm (25 points), and final (25 points). For extra credit (5 points), you may write a one-page conference report on the Penn Film and Media Pioneers symposium, taking place on October 25th. Attendance in class is mandatory; more than two unexcused absences will result in the reduction of your course grade. Detailed assignments will be distributed in class and posted on the course website. Exam questions will be drawn from class reading, lectures, and screenings.
